Photographic Competition Number 4.
Over the months of June, July, August and September 2005 I-Net Support
(webmasters) and Rob Roy Whisky ran a competition for the best
photograph taken by walkers on the Rob Roy Way. The photographer had to
be 18 years or over and could not be an employee of Fior Brands,
Morrison Bowmore or I-Net Support.
Unfortunately this year the response to the competition was very poor and we were unable to award any prizes in this category. We did however receive a FUN photograph which has a funny story attached and we have if somewhat belatedly awarded a prize to this entry.

Fun Photograph 2005
This was taken on the section between Aberfoyle and Callander early in June 2005. Roma Whiteley and eight other walkers from the Cardiff area were walking the Rob Roy Way (which they "thoroughly enjoyed") when they chanced upon these discarded Boxer pants.
|
Not perhaps worth the photo until you learn that the gentleman in the photograph had his rucksack and clothes lost in the airline transfer and he was only able to walk by buying some emergency equipment and clothes. This had not included a spare set of pants, and boy, these would be useful!!!
Readers will be pleased to know that he managed to buy new underwear in Callander and that the rucksack and contents eventually caught up with the group 4 days later.
Ms Roma Whiteley of Cardiff is the winner of this revised 2005 competition and receives a 75cl Bottle of Rob Roy Whisky.

Find the Whisky
This was a fun competition and ran till the 30th September 2005.
Again we did not receive any response and therefore no prizes were awarded. We will be considering the possibility of reintorducing the same type of competition in 2006. Watch this space.
The first two walking parties who can identify a stockist of Rob Roy Whisky, be it a hotel or pub, along
the line of the Way will receive a free 75cl bottle.
The group can only win one prize, the group being any number of walkers undertaking the way together be it a walking party of one to twelve.
The group will need to produce evidence of finding the stockist, the most likely means being a photo of the group with the pub or hotel owner with a bottle of Rob Roy Whisky clearly seen. With this evidence we need to know the names of the walking group, the groups contact details, the name of the establishment with contact details and the date of the discovery.
The date of entries being received will determine the first two winners, not the date of discovery.
Entrants must be prepared to have their details published.
Results will not be posted until all two winners have been identified or the 1st October, whichever is the sooner.
Entrants or members of the group cannot be employees or close friends of Fior Brands, Morrison Bowmore or SCSupport Ltd.
To make an entry simply post the evidence along with the details above to:-
Rob Roy Way Find the Whisky Competition, I-Net Support,
2 Wembley Terrace, Melrose. TD6 9QR
OR
E-mail us with the photographic evidence as an attachment
along with the same details.
Remember in both cases to insure that you detail your name and
address otherwise we cannot send the prize if you are the winner.

June 2004 Winner

Fun Photos - This was one of several photos sent in by Terry Nichol of Redcar in Yorkshire. This was taken in 2003 and as such does not qualify for the competition. We did however think this was fun and an example of the range of photos that can be considered for future months.
Our only concern is that they seem to be lost, and not in the most difficult of places!!!

Photographic Competition - Winter 2003/04
The competition was open in two categories, those taken from the
Rob Roy Way and a category for pictures from other recognised walking
routes. The former category received 17 entries the best we have had
for any single photographic competition. The latter was however
disappointing with only entries from persons that do not qualify due to
their relationship with either the sponsor or the judging company. A
prize has therefore been given only to the winning Rob Roy Way entry.

Loch Tay to Ben Lawers with a hint of snow on the peak.
